I'm Home!

Here, as promised, is the story of our vacation. For pictures, though you'll have to go to Mom's blog (assuming she has time to post) because she had the camera.

We drove up to our rented house on Thursday afternoon just in time for supper. We then all got ourselves unpacked and organized and then went to Subway where we were served by two very slow employees.
The next day we started fishing. We tried the warf in the shipping channel first. That was a bust. No nibbles and lots of lost tackle. Next we went to the Getty, which didn't look so great because there was some serious wind and the surf looked really wild. We decided against that spot and then tried the beach near our little neighborhood. That was a great success. I caught 2 Catfish and a Whiting all of which were big enough to fillet. Grandpa caught one or two, and I think Dad caught one. Collin caught another Catfish that was also big enough to fillet. Timmy didn't catch anything and Mandy was too busy playing in the sand. Mom caught a large Catfish but that was all because she mostly went around taking pictures of everyone else's catches.
The day after that Collin caught one large Catfish and so did dad but we threw Dad's back because it was an egg filled female. We don't like Caviar. No one else caught anything that day but a guy who was fishing down the beach from us caught a really big Machrel. Apparently he didn't like Macherel, so he gave the fish to us! I'm telling you, this fish was about 20 inches long give or take a few centimeters! We still haven't tried the meat yet.
The third day we went back to the beach and timmy finally caught his first fish!! Boy was he happy. He managed to catch two fish that day. Both catfish, but neither of them were big enough to keep. Everyone else caught a whole lot of nothing. After staying at the beach for a while, we tried the Getty, then we tried the warf again, but had no success. Well, I shouldn't say that, both Grandpa and Timmy caught an eel. And I got some serious jerks but no matter how hard I tried I never could get a hook in that sucker. I swear it was the same fish.
Every evening was the same deal. We came back dog tired, and freezing cold. The wind would not go away. And my matress sucked, but hey, nothing's ever perfect, and we still had a great time!
